Lauren & David's Engagement Shoot

As we've been winding down shooting weddings we've been doing a lot more engagement shoots. One of our favorite things to shoot are engagements in winter. Chicago is a very cinematic city, especially when it snows. Take a look at our most recent take from working with Lauren and David, and if you haven't done it already, consider scheduling your engagement shoot now!

Emily + Michael's Wedding

Emily and Michael were absolutely great to work with! Not only were they adorable, but very easy-going.

The couple knew they wanted to visit several of Chicago's hot spots for pictures, so they decided to have a small wedding party and schedule plenty of time between their ceremony and reception. We had the opportunity to make it to Millennium Park, Wrigley Field, Chicago Theatre, the Board of Trade and the Calder!

Their reception took place at Fulton’s on the River, where family and friends cocktailed outside, taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, and then danced the night away!

Thank you for letting take part in your special day! Want to see more?! Click here to check out their slideshow.

Lake Geneva, WI

With the holidays right around the corner, we thought we would post this lovely wedding from November. Carly and John live in Chicago, but wanted to escape the city a for their wedding. So it was off to Lake Geneva for the weekend! You would never know that we were so close to Chicago! The Observatory, where we took the bridal party looks like it could be in Europe. The Steamboats along the water look like the Old South. Who knew that Lake Geneva could be all those places in one small town. The weather was amazing, the trees were stunning! We captured some of the best images of the season!

Thanks Carly and John for such a wonderful time! Want to see more? Check out their slideshow.

This October, we had a chance to photograph Deb and Emily's wedding in the luxe Hotel Monaco. It may have been a rainy day, but no one's spirits were dampened in the slightest. Both were so relaxed and fun to shoot - it shows in the pics!

Thanks Deb and Em - it was honor to work with you!

Cool Under Pressure: New Orleans

We were honored to take part in this year’s Pictage Partner Conference in New Orleans. Being in the presence of the new and tried-and-true was inspirational. We had the opportunity to mingle with celebrity photographers, such as Dennis Reggie, Mike Colon, Joe Buissink and Carlos Baez.

Pictage asked Kurt to lead a hands-on shooting workshop. The workshop filled up in 5 minutes, with several people on the waiting list. Kurt took the lucky 25 photographers around the French Quarter, teaching them his techniques and poses he uses with his couples.

Alma and David, our models, rocked the photo shoot. The couple got married in New Orleans two weeks prior to the workshop, in a cowboy/Indian themed wedding. The newlyweds were edgy, fun, energetic, romantic, but most of all not afraid to let loose in front of 25 cameras!!

We are excited to continue our partnership with Pictage.

Keep an eye out for this wonderfully sweet wedding next week!

Julia & Michael's Special Day

We had the honor of taking part in Julia and Michael’s wedding. The couple tied the knot at St. Mary of the Lake, and then braved Chicago’s brisk weather for some images around Lincoln Park.

We believe Julia, Michael and their wedding party could be professional models, since you are unable to tell it was around 40°F.

The celebration continued at Café Brauer, a timeless venue in the heart of Lincoln Park Zoo. Shannon Helmig and Stems did an amazing job creating eye-catching centerpieces!

We had a wonderful time working with these two! Click here to check out their slideshow!

Fall into Chicago

Martha Stewart has nothing on Team Zeewagen. Laura and Dan brought a whole new meaning to D.I.Y weddings. The couple had the ceremony and reception at Salvage One, a perfect match to their eclectic personalities.

Laura and Dan styled their own wedding with the help of Elizabeth Tulipana, of Anticipation Events. Laura’s Mom worked hard up until the last minutes, making all of the table runners, which added a personal touch to the already unique space of Salvage One. Guests were treated to an amazing buffet catered by Vincent Colombet, owner of Cook Au Vin. The buffet included hand-made ravioli, salmon, beef, world cheeses and crepes.

Before opening up the dance floor, Laura and Dan surprised their guests with the Tango. DJ Ryan Norworthy, from Style Matters, kept guests moving throughout the night. We had a blast working with these two. Click here to see their slideshow!!
