Destination Kauai, Hawaii: Jeff & Nisar's Wedding

We love destination weddings! This one was extra special because Jeff and Nisar are part of the G+S extended family. Nisar is a wedding planner and event designer extraordinaire, who we have had the pleasure of working with for many years. The recipe for the perfect destination wedding: Take two hot guys, a remote bit of beach in Kauai, a few Indian details, and you have the makings of one stunning wedding. We were so honored to be invited to shoot this intimate affair. There is really nothing else to say but enjoy this breathtaking event! Angelynn & Nick - Crystal Gardens

Angelynn and Nick prepared for a rainy wedding day, but Mother Nature pulled through and provided them with an beautiful spring day. Although they live in San Francisco, they decided to have their wedding in Angelynn's hometown. With their love for the outdoors and the city of Chicago, Navy Pier's Crystal Gardens was an easy choice for their venue. Congratulations Angelynn and Nick!

Claire & Michael's Big Day

Claire and Michael had been to a ton of weddings, and so when they were planning their own they decided they wanted to do things a little differently. That all started with the space - The Ravenswood Event Center is definitely unique as it's one part urban loft and one part classic car museum. The next shake up was the dress and veil combination. Claire wanted something modern and that had a detachable skirt so she could change her look during the reception. All of their influences came together to make the night memorable and fun for all their guests. Check out some of our favorite pictures below!

Eliana and Shaun's Salvage One Wedding

Eliana and Shaun picked one of the hippest spots on Chicago, Salvage One, for their wedding. They are one cool couple, who didn't really stress about any part of their wedding. It was an unusually warm spring day, which made for some beautiful pictures around the venue. The happy couple tied the knot in a lovely ceremony officiated by the bride's brother. The reception was filled with lots of fun stories and lovely anecdotes. Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your day!

Operation Route 66: Pop Up Art Show

As some of you may know, our very own Kurt and Nick Gerber are working on a documentary film project. The film is about them riding their motorcycles across historic Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. Along the way they'll be interviewing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - other parents and children who have served our country over the last 10 years. They decided this was an important venture and we completely agree. 

For this reason, the pair are hosting a Pop Up Art Show. Come to the G.R. N'Namdi gallery on Friday, April 13 for a night of wine, cheese, good music, and good company. We will be selling prints, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Operation Route 66.

It will be a great opportunity to have a good time, network with other Chicagoans (perhaps get to know the photographer for your upcoming wedding!), and raise money for a great cause.

Alexis and Seth's Wedding at Maggiano's

Alexis and Seth wanted a simple and understated wedding that was all about their friends and family. So they threw a lovely and intimate weddings at Maggiano's in downtown Chicago. Before the festivities began, we took a few pictures around the city. The weather was amazing, no coats needed this March!
